Two Innocent Civilians Injured in Attack by Terrorist Group in Kunhein Township, Shan State

     In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views 'anyone with differing views is an enemy' are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 15 August 2025 at 3:30 PM, a report stated that a man and a woman with gunshot wounds were admitted to the Sao San Tun Hospital in Taunggyi Township of Shan State. When security personnel arrived at the Hospital for further investigation, the victims were identified as U Sai Oo  (37 years old) and his wife, Daw Nan Mya Thu (35 years old) both residents of No. 2 Ward in Karli Town, Kunhein Township. The incident occurred on 14 August 2025, around 7:00 PM, while the victims were at their house, a terrorist group arrived, opened fire on them and then fled the scene. As a result, the couple sustained gunshot wounds, it is reported.

     Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
