In Certain Townships, Civil Servant, Administrative Official and Innocent Civilian Abducted by So-Called PDF Terrorists

     Terrorist groups have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities including abducting and extorting money from local civilians and also administrative officials, as well as killings.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 9 May 2026 at 6:30 AM, Daw May Jar Thaw (36 years old), a deputy staff officer from the Township Immigration and Population Department of Thayetchaung Township and her father, U Thaung Myint (64 years old), both residents of Myoma Ward in Thayetchaung Township of Tanintharyi Region, were travelling by motorcycle to Dawei Town along the Dawei-Thayetchaung Road, for a medical check-up for U Thaung Myint. when the motorcycle reached an area near Shin Tauk Htein Pagoda located between Nyaung Zin Village and Yan Taung Village in Thayetchaung Township of 10 so-called PDF terrorists forced the it to stop and abducted them, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 12:55 PM, on the same day, while U Aung Min (57 years old), an in-charge of sub village and a resident of Kine Taw Lay Village in Minbu Township of Magway Region, was at his hut about two furlongs east of the village, five so-called PDF terrorists arriving by three motorcycles and abducted him, it is reported.

     Regarding the above incidents, security personnel are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
