Innocent Civilian Killed and Three Others Injured in Heavy Weapon and Small-Armed Attack by KNLA Insurgents and So-Called PDF Terrorists in Ye Township of Mon State

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 22 February 2026 at 10:00 AM, a combined group of KNLA insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons and small arms into Kyaungywar Village in Ye Township of Mon State. As a result of the attacks, U Aung Myint Thein (aka) Phoe Kay (48 years old), a resident of the village, died on the spot. Additionally, three other villagers Daw Naw Mu (45 years old), Ma Ngu Wah Shwe (14 years old) and Mg Aung Htet Phyo (four years old), sustained shrapnel injuries. The deceased and injured individuals were transported to Ye Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
