Four Innocent Civilians, Including Two Children Injured in Heavy and Small Arms Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Thayetchaung Township of Tanintharyi Region

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 20 January 2026 at 7:00 AM, a report stated that a man, a woman and two children with gunshot wounds were admitted to Thayetchaung Township Public Hospital in Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was found that on 19 January 2026 at 8:40 PM, so-called PDF terrorists opened fire using heavy and small arms into Myoma Ward in Thayetchaung Township. As a result, U Myint Swe (69 years old), Daw Ei Zin (41 years old), Ma Hnin Thaw Tun (six years old) and Mg Sai Htet Pyae Sone (three years old), all residents of the ward, sustained gunshot wounds, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
