Primary Assistant Teacher, Village Administrator and Three Innocent Civilians Return Home After Abduction by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Sidoktaya Township of Magway Region

     Terrorist groups have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities-including abducting and extorting money from civil servants, administrative officials and local civilians, as well as killings.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 9 August 2025 at 11:35 AM, a report stated that individuals who had been abducted by a so-called PDF terrorist group had reportedly returned to their respective houses in Lone Gyi Village and Bu Village, Sidoktaya Township of Magway Region. Upon investigation, security personnel found the following: Daw Khin Htay Win (60 years old) from Lone Gyi Village was abducted by a so-called PDF terrorist group on 17 May 2023. Village Administrator, U Thaung Myint (69 years old), his son, U Win Ko Myint (42 years old), Daw Sandar Myint (53 years old), a primary assistant teacher from the Basic Education High School in Bu Village and U Myo Lwin (55 years old), a retired land survey clerk, all residents of Bu Village, were abducted by the so-called PDF terrorist group on 3 January 2025 at 8:00 AM. On 9 August 2025, all the abducted individuals returned to their homes, it is reported.

     Regarding the above incident, security personnel are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
