Innocent Civilian Abducted and Killed by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Sinbaungwe Township of Magway Region

     Terrorists have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities-including abducting and extorting money from local civilians as well as killings.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 20 January 2026 at 11:05 AM, a report stated that a male body with gunshot wounds on the roadside of the Koe Pin – Thar Ga Ya Road located one mile east of Tha Pyay San Village in Sinbaungwe Township of Magway Region. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Maung Nyunt (51 years old), a resident of Chaung Kyauk Village. According to the investigation, on 18 January 2026 at 7:15 PM, while the victim was at his house, a group of 10 so-called PDF terrorists, arriving by five motorcycles, abducted him. The terrorists then took him to the location where the body was later found and opened fire on him. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.

     Regarding the above incident, security personnel are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
