In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 22 February at 2:30 PM, a report stated that a monk and two women were killed, and another woman was injured by gunfire near Ywargyi Village of Natogyi Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that a vehicle, driven by U Aye Min Aung (39 years old) who lives in Kathal Village, was carrying Abbot U Agganyarna (aka) U Shan (76 years old) who had 36 years of monastic life from Thalmaungkan Monastery in Thalmaungkan Village, Tada-U Township, along with Daw Than Mi (70 years old), Ma Khine Htay (38 years old) and Ma Ei Ei Phyo (23 years old) all from Kathal Village, Kyaukse Township and Daw San Win (65 years old) from Myaynipin Village, Pakokku Township, Magway Region. They were travelling from Myaynipin Village to Kathal Village along the Myingyan-Yaewun Road. Upon nearing Ywargyi Village’s entrance, approximately 15 so-called PDF terrorists opened fire on them. Fortunately, U Aye Min Aung and Daw San Win were sustained no injuries. However, Abbot U Agganyarna (aka) U Shan, Daw Than Mi and Ma Khine Htay were killed by gunshot wounds, while Ma Ei Ei Phyo was injured. The deceased and injured were transported to Natogyi Township Public Hospital for further examination and medical treatment, it is reported.

Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of a monk and innocent civilians in the abovementioned case. These acts stem from a radicalized ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
