A male was killed, and seven males and six females, including employees of the gold and jewelry shop, were injured due to a mine, which was set up in a motorcycle, detonated by a terrorist (under scrutiny) in front of the “Zwe Htet” gold and jewelry shop located in the Myoma market in Lashio Town

     On the morning of 15 July, A male was killed, and seven males and six females, including employees of the gold and jewelry shop, were injured due to a mine, which was set up in a motorcycle, detonated by a terrorist (under scrutiny) in front of the “Zwe Htet” gold and jewelry shop located in the Myoma market in Lashio Town, Northern Shan State, it is reported.

     The incident occurred that, on 15 July at 07:40 AM, according to the report that an explosion occurred in front of the “Zwe Htet” gold and jewelry shop located on the middle road of the Myoma market in No. (6) area of No. (3) Ward in Lashio Town, security personnel went to the scene and conducted an inspection. According to the investigation, it is found that as the employees of the gold and jewelry shop were arriving in a vehicle at the shop to open and begin selling, a mine (under scrutiny) detonated inside a black Kenbo 110 motorcycle which parked on the roadside in front of the shop.  As a result of the explosion, Thu Ya Zaw (21 years old), and Htet Myat Aung (25 years old), who both were employees of the “Zwe Htet” gold and jewelry shop, sustained major injuries from the mine shrapnel. Furthermore, several other employees; Shine Min Maung (21 years old), Kaung Htet Nyi (18 years old), Naing Lin Aung (19 years old), Sein Myo Aung (23 years old), Min Thein Lin (25 years old), Naing Ye Lin (21 years old), Ma Mya Than Htwe (28 years old) and Ma Aye Chan Maw (21 years old) as well as Ma Chit Su Win (28 years old), Ma Po Po (26 years old), Ma Aye Nawt (24 years old) and Daw Arr Lal (58 years old), who were present in nearby shops at the time of explosion, sustained minor injuries from mine shrapnel. They all were transported to a military hospital and the Lashio Township Public Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, at 12:30 PM, Thu Ya Zaw was dead from his injuries during incident, it is reported.

     Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who detonated a mine on the public road of the Myoma market with the intention to kill and wound innocent civilians, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
