Vice-Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win Honours Myanmar Academy Awards Ceremony for 2023

Vice-Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended 2023 Myanmar Academy Awards Ceremony at the Myanmar International Convention Centre I (MICC I), Nay Pyi Taw on 3 February.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Senior General said the following points;

· He called on Myanmar's film industry to continue its efforts for sake of the country and the people by keeping the changing trends.

· The government appreciates artists from music, theatrical and film industries came together to support and help as much as possible in the aftermath of the Mocha storm. They personally visited, gave encouragement, and performed dances and organized football matches to raise funds for the victims.

· He strongly urge the artists attending the event to work together with the government for the development of our country and our people, keeping nationalism, patriotism, ensuring  peace, unity and development for the nation.

· The return activities of film, music and theatrical performers is due to the leadership of relevant organizations as well as the unity of the artistes in the community and so, he expressed his gratitude to all those who participated.

· Today, it is very dangerous for the country if people work under suspicion, ego and wrong ideas, breaking unity and ignoring the interests of the state and the people. He urged the artistes to work together for the interests of the nation and the people, upholding the right consideration.

· All artistes are requested to work for the interests of the state and the people based on their talents of fine arts I order not to fade out of Myanmar tradition and prevent foreign cultural influence over Myanmar’s customs.

Afterward, the Vice-Senior General and wife, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, experienced academy award holders of artistes presented the academy fashion award, the lifelong academy awards, the academy awards for technicians and artists of the film, the best film music award, the best script award, the best film award, the best director award, the best supporting actress and the best supporting actor awards, and the best actress and the best actor awards to the winners.

Next, the Vice-Senior General and wife posed for documentary photographs together with the academy award winners for 2023 and cordially greeted scholars, technicians and artists from the film, literature and music fields.

Also present were Daw Than Than Nwe, wife of the Vice-Senior General, SAC members and wives, Union-level dignitaries and wives, Union Ministers and wives, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and wife, senior military officers of Office of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and wives, commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and wife, deputy ministers, patrons, chairman and members of Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, Chairmen and members of music and theatrical organizations, the Myanmar Press Council chairman, Myanmar Theatrical and Music Associations’ chairpersons and members, Myanmar Academy Award Scrutiny Board members, the scholars, technicians and artists from the film, literature, theatre and music industries, responsible officials and special invitees it is reported.
