Innocent Civilian Killed in Improvised Rocket Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and spread fear. They are also indiscriminately planting landmines on public roads, targeting government offices with explosives and engaging in destructive acts without regard for reason or morality.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 16 August 2025 at 11:30 AM, a so-called PDF terrorist group launched an attack using improvised rockets into the Latpadaung Copper Mining Project compound in Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region. The improvised rocket shell exploded within the project compound. Consequently, U Kyaw Naing (43 years old), a security staff from the Myanmar-Wanbao Mining Copper Company and resident of Wah Tan Village in Salingyi Township, died on the spot. There was no damage to building, it is reported.

     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
