Four Government Employees and Eight Innocent Civilians Abducted Along with Vehicle by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Chauk Township of Magway Region

     Terrorists have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities-including abducting and extorting money from local civilians and also election commission members, as well as killings.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 18 January 2026, at 1:30 PM, U Lin Tun (50 years old), a forest officer; U Tin Tun (59), a Forest Ranger; U Arkar Phyo (23 years old), a Forest Guard; U Zaw Paing Phyo (22 years old), a Forest Guard, all from the Chauk Township Forest Department, along with eight laborers: U Aung Myo Naing (45 years old), U Zaw Win Oo (46 years old), U Soe Naing (52 years old), U Kyaw Hein (50 years old) U Soe Lin (35 years old), U Htay Htay (51 years old), U Nan Myint Aung (44 years old) and U Kan Sal (55 years old), all residents of Taung Nhout Village, were carrying out tree maintenance and cultivation activities along the Chauk – Gway Cho Road, approximately three miles east of Sin Ka Village. These trees had been planted along both sides of the road by the Forest Department. At that time, seven so-called PDF terrorists arrived and abducted them, along with a vehicle owned by the Forest Department, it is reported.

     Regarding the above incident, security personnel are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
