Four Innocent Civilians Injured in Small-Arms Attack on 12-Wheeled Trucks by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Tanintharyi Township of Tanintharyi Region

     Political extremist terrorist groups, with the intention of destabilizing the state's peace and stability, are carrying out acts of terror such as firing heavy and small arms into towns and villages where innocent civilians reside, despite these are not being military targets; shooting at vehicles travelling on public roads and conducting mine attacks; planting mines to destroy and damage roads and bridges.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 18 March 2026 at 2:25 PM, three men and a woman with gunshot wounds were admitted to Tanintharyi Township Public Hospital in Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital to conduct further investigation, it was founded that two trucks were travelling from Myeik Town to Kawthaung Town along the Pyidaungsu Road. One truck was driven by U Phoe Khwar (aka) Saw Tar Palu Htoo (34 years old), accompanied by his wife, Daw Aye Thiri Kyaw (28 years old), while the other truck was driven by U Min Min Soe (36 years old), accompanied by Ko Thaw Zin Ko Ko (21 years old). All of them are residents of Pathein Town in Ayeyarwaddy Region, were traveling from Myeik Town to Kawthaung Town along the Pyidaungsu Road. At 2:00 PM, on the same day, when the vehicles reached an area near Ram Pho Village in Tanintharyi Township, so-called PDF terrorists opened fire on the vehicles with small-arms, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.

     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
