In Certain Townships, Innocent Civilian Killed and Another Injured in Improvised Explosive Device Explosions Planted by Terrorists

     In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 16 May 2026 at 9:45 AM, while Daw Ei Ei Mu (40 years old), a resident of Kan Taw Village in Pakokku Township of Magway Region, was on her way to a forest about one mile east of the village to pick vegetables, she stepped on an improvised explosive device planted near the forest by so-called PDF terrorists. As a result, Daw Ei Ei Mu died on the spot, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 10:30 AM, on the same day, a report stated that a woman with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital to conduct further investigation, the victim was identified as Daw Aye Than (62 years old), a resident of La Mine Village in Madaya Township. According to the investigation, at 6:25 AM, on the same day, while the victim was on her way to Lat Wal Gyi Village, she stepped on an improvised explosive device planted near the village by so-called PDF terrorists, resulting in her injuries, it is reported.
     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents to take effective action in accordance with the law.
