Innocent Civilian Killed and Another Injured in Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Dewai Township of Tanintharyi Region

     The terrorist groups, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the National Unity Government (NUG), with the aim of nationwide destruction, have formed the terrorists known as the so-called PDF. Under various pretexts, in some regions, they have been arresting, torturing and killing government servants, monks and innocent local residents, as well as engaging in armed clashes and carrying out attacks in wards and villages.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 16 April 2026 at 8:10 PM, U Meik Kal (aka) Maung Hla (43 years old) and his daughter, Ma Khine Thazin (12 years old), both residents of Oh-Loke Ward in Dawei Township of Tanintharyi Region, were at their house, two so-called PDF terrorists arriving by motorcycle and opened fire on them. As a result, U Mike Kal (aka) Maung Hla died on the spot, while Ma Khine Thazin sustained gunshot wounds. The deceased and injured individuals were transported to Dawei Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate shootings and killings of innocent civilians by armed terrorists, who intended to spread fear among the public. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
