Junior Assistant Teacher and Girl Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Pwintphyu Township of Magway Region

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 2 February 2026 at 10:50 AM, a report stated that two women with shrapnel injuries were admitted to Pwintphyu Township Public Hospital in Magway Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victims were identified as Daw Thida Shwe (38 years old), a junior assistant teacher of the Basic Education Secondary School in Yae Pote Ka Lay Village and her niece, Ma Thin Zar Phyo (14 years old), both residents of Mone Za Lal Village in Pwintphyu Township. According to the investigation, at 7:00 AM, on the same day, while the victims were at their house, a heavy weapon shell fired by so-called PDF terrorists exploded nearby, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
