Political Party Member Injured in Improvised Mortar Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Kyunhla Township of Sagaing Region

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 13 February 2026 at 11:30 AM, so-called PDF terrorists fired improvised mortars into Ingyin Mying Ward in Kyunhla Township of Sagaing Region. One of the shells exploded at the Wai Yeik Kha Nunnery in the ward. As a result, six galvanized roofs and the window panes of the nunnery, were damaged. Additionally, U Tin Nyunt (73 years old), a member of National Unity Party and a resident of Pyinmana Mying Ward, who was present at the time of the incident, sustained shrapnel injuries and was transported to Kyunhla Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
