Directorate of Industrial Supervision & Inspection (Electrical Inspectorate)

   The Purpose

To ensure the quality and safety of local electrical equipment

 Required Documents
  1. Application form to request for Inspection with Company Letterhead
  2. Company Registration Certificate (Copy)
  3. Test Certificate; Standards and specifications

 Procedures

  1. The application form and necessary documents are submitted to the respective electricity inspection department (Head Office) Directorate of Industry Supervision and Inspection.
  2. Application form and standards; Technical specifications will be reviewed by the electrical inspection department.
  3. Local electrical products & electrical appliances imported by oversea must be sent to a laboratory for testing. (Electrical Testing Laboratory is located at No. (35), Kyaik Wine Pagoda Road, Mayangone Township, Yangon.)
  4. The quality of the electrical equipment will be checked in the laboratory.
  5. The inspection fee is paid into the prescribed account title of the Myanmar Economic Bank during 7 days and the original receipt is submitted to the DISI.
  6. After inspection and payment, the Electrical Inspection Department will issue an electrical safety certificate.

 The application can be sent by email and the inspection must be done at the Electrical                  Inspection Laboratory.
