The Myanmar National Human Rights Commission inspects Catholic Home for the Aged

   On 24 January 2025, the inspection team, led by U Kyaw Soe, U Win Hlaing Oo and U Than Win, Members of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission (MNHRC) conducted an inspection of inspected the Catholic Home for the Aged under Social Welfare Department in Mingalar Taungnyunt Township, Yangon Region.

   During the inspection, the team conducted a visit to Catholic Home for the Aged investigated whether the residents were enjoying fundamental rights including health services, appropriate food, provision of purified drinking water, right to freedom of religion, adequate dormitories, arrangements for leisure and old age social pension for those who were 85 years old and above.

   MNHRC inspection team will send its findings and recommendations to the relevant department in accordance with the MNHRC law for necessary actions.
